INterim Co Chair

Mary is the General Manager of Umpi Korumba Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders Corporation for Housing. Mary has been General Manager of this organisation since 1998 (23 years). Mary is also interim Co-Chair of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Housing Queensland.

Mary is the current Deputy Chairperson of the National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Housing Association (NATSIHA). NATSIHA is the national peak body for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Housing in Australia. This experience governing a national peak housing body gives our organisation an insight and understanding of national housing matters.

Mary is also a current member of the Queensland Government Ministerial Housing Committee (MHC) which advises the Queensland Housing Minister. The MHC also provides a platform for housing leaders to address housing challenges in Queensland and facilitate the delivery of quality housing outcomes.

Mary has previously had an extensive career in employment-related roles for the Australian Government and leadership roles for community organisations and the Queensland Government’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander policy.

Mary is Cobble Cobble, KuKu Yelangi, Quandamooka and Jinabara.
