Our Strategic Plan

The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Housing Queensland Strategic Plan 2022–2025 outlines the vision and ambition for our organisation and Sector.

The Strategic Plan was developed in consultation with our Board of Directors, team members and our members. Our current Strategic Plan is aligned with the “Objects” in the 2021 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Housing Queensland Limited Constitution and focuses on the delivery of eight goals. They are supported with actions which will guide our business agenda to the end of 2025. Our second Strategic Plan is currently being developed and will be finalised in December 2025.

Each goal in the Strategic Plan 2022–2025 is directed towards making tangible improvements and support our vision to eliminate the disparities in housing experienced by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in Queensland.

Goal 7 – Sustainability
This goal is focused on ensuring that our organisation is adequately governed, managed and adequately resourced to achieve our vision, and carry out our agreed purpose and role.

Goal 8 – National Collaboration
This goal is focused on ensuring that we will develop and utilise the capabilities within National, State and Territory Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander housing peak bodies to improve our effectiveness and to foster positive housing outcomes across the country.

Crucial Strategic Enablers

To achieve these eight goals in the Strategic Plan, we also recognise the crucial Strategic Enablers that will enable us to succeed. They include:

  • the right people and culture;
  • efficient processes;
  • good governance;
  • ensuring financial sustainability;
  • strong and clear communication about what we do as Housing Queensland, and why it matters.

Our Strategic Plan is monitored by the Board and supported by a series of Annual Work Plans that have ensured our Executive Team have a laser focus on outcomes that keep moving us towards our vision to eliminate the disparities in housing experienced by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in Queensland.
