If you are sleeping rough, experiencing homelessness or at risk of becoming homeless, there are a range of support services that you can access. If you are in immediate danger, call 000.
As a peak body and advocacy organisation, Housing Queensland does not provide direct housing or support services. Although we can’t assist you, we know many organisations in all areas of Queensland that can. State and local governments, and many community organisations operate telephone services which are a good first step to assistance.

Ask Izzy
Ask Izzy is an online directory that lists support services for people in need. The service is free and anonymous and can be accessed on your phone, even if you don’t have data. Listings include emergency housing and shelters, where to get food and meals, showers and clothing, access to doctors, dentists and other health professionals.

The Salvation Army is one of the largest providers of homelessness services in Australia. Services are free, voluntary, accredited and delivered by professional and committed staff.

Homeless Hotline
Phone referral service. You will be provided with contact details for temporary accommodation and shelters, meals and showers, counselling and mental health support (if required), and referrals to other services to help you further.

Emergency Relief Program
The program provides support to vulnerable Queenslanders experiencing immediate financial hardship and provides items such as vouchers for food, transport and essential items, contributions to payment of third-party accounts such as utility bills and food parcels.
